I’ve been crawling on all fours to race for the day.
But I’m losing my grip as the glimpse of light fades.
I insist to go home now, but oh God which way?
How much damage is done? Am i really too late?
I truly admire your way of thinking
What you’re feeling, constantly sinking down.
I know you aspire to be the eyes
that sees the broken rise from the ground.
We’re all patiently waiting to see
what you’ve brought for us now.

patiently waiting, waiting.
I’m sick to my stomach and up to my eyes.
I’m hopelessly lost in the dead of the night.
I’ve witnessed the harm, this unbalanced divide.
My heart is not racing, am i still alive?
I’ve been called many things, amongst them such a liar
For the proclaiming that i can walk through fire.
The hidden truth I’m out to prove is the acceptance
Of not knowing, never knowing breeds a survivor.
Oh and i’m i survivor.

and with a roar they all released
straight at the sun.
And in the embers of their crime
They could not know what has begun.
Ever so ironically, in the darkness they’ve conceived, they were now
Allowed to see just what they’ve done.
And the world they’ve loved and known was forsaken
and left in the cold.
I’ve fully realized my own absence
In that sense nothing’s changed.
I understand your anger
You so bravely maintain.
We not only ask forgiveness
But we beg of you to stay.
Release us from this winter
Bring back the light of day.
